Deceased Mother's Return

My overall experience with TurboTax on this return was very good, however I was using it to file my deceased mother's final return as the executor of her estate. The instructions were not always clear as to who "You" or "Your" was, or whose address was needed on some of the forms, or whose State ID was needed, mine or hers.

Turbo Tax is great, saves me time and money!

I found the menu for choosing what income section to work on next very confusing. It's changed from last year. Once I figured out how to navigate through that portion, everything was easy.

Had some software issues

I've had issues with Turbotax software before but this year I there was several problems. Some problems I had were that once I started a return, saved my work, closed out the program, when I re-opened the next day, it took me to a screen that acted as if I hadn't started any returns, and when I imported the files again, my previously entered data wasn't there. I talked with a Turbotax rep that walked me through the steps of clearing my browser cache which solved the problem, but all of my data was still gone. The rep did help me fix that problem. The next problem that I remember was that when I would go through a section within turbotax, even a section that I just opened and went through the questions, even though most answers were "No", when I would leave that section, it kept the "Update" button displayed even though I was finished with the section. It didn't say "Done". Other sections that I did fill in the appropriate information, it also still showed the "Update" button instead of "Done". There was a couple other software problems but I can't remember what they were. I am grateful for the Turbotax reps help; he solved the first problem very quickly. Thanks for your Time.

I am totally disgusted with the changes TurboTax has made over the past few years. I have gone from being a big fan to feeling trapped into using it. I concur with every complaint you read about TurboTax.
