GREAT PRODUCT! BEWARE OF DISCOUNTS OFFERED

BEWARE OF TIME SENSITIVE FILING OFFERS. I WAS OFFERED A ONE TIME, $5 DISCOUNT ON STATE FILING IF DONE WHEN OFFERED. WENT THROUGH FILING PROCESS, BUT CHARGED FULL $25 PRICE ANYWAY.

Great product, but a pain to buy this year

Turbo Tax Deluxe is easy to use. It takes the mystery and confusion out of doing your taxes. Plus, Turbo Tax Deluxe is helpful in finding ways to increase your refund (if you get one). However, this year I had a hard time buying the Turbo Tax software. I can understand Intuit's decision to stop providing the software by CD and have customers download it only. But their decision to reduce the amount of stores selling Turbo Tax down to six does not make since. Especially since three of the six stores are membership only warehouse club stores, and one of the other three is an online store were people are already warning you to double check who is selling the software cause it may not be legit. So for me I had only TWO place where I could go to get Turbo Tax, only to find out I had to go to the store's webpage to buy it. I love Turbo Tax. I have been using it for 20 years, but if Intuit makes it this hard to get it next year I might switch to another product.

9 Years of Tax Filing

I've used Turbo Tax for my personal taxes for over 9 years. I find this program easy to follow and use. I have been pleased each year with my federal tax filing but the state "FREE" filing as advertised gets my goat! Each purchase states that it comes with 1 FREE state filing and to date I have never received a free state of NC filing and have had to pay $20.00 each year. This year the program ask if I wanted to use my FREE filing and I stated YES as I started my state information. Once again before e-filing was available, I had to pay not the $20 as stated (early filing price) but $25 which is the March and April filing fee. If the FREE state filing is not going to be available, why list it??? Also if it is available by jumping through your cute hoops, why offer it at all??? No where do I find information on how to get my state filed for free. I guess that I have been reading and interpretating the FREE state statement wrong all these years!
