Federal return changed by Turbo Tax after filing

After completing federal return and getting the Turbo Tax clean bill of health with zero due so I transmitted my 2024 federal return. Three days later an update to Turbo Tax was completed (2/20/2025) and now the federal return shows $499 tax due related to form 5329.

Easy to use

This is about the 5th or 6th year I have used TurboTax Deluxe...and it is so much better than the old way I had done my taxes for years. I now finish in a few hours instead of days and days.

I have used TT for years and will continue to do so.
The app did lock up a few times and I had to restart it each time. That was a little annoying.
Spoke to a rep and she answered my question in about 15 seconds!!

Turbo Tax is convenient

I have used Turbo Tax for over a decade. It is easy but this 2024 version of the Turbo Tax Deluxe is not as helpful as past versions. Past versions had sidebar options to get free tax information on the topic that is being shown on screen at the time. Now a tax advice fee is required. Also the ability to print the document is not readily accessible as prior versions of Turbo Tax.Rather than having their tax returns prepared for free by local community organizations or AARP, seniors like me, i.e., self-preparers, prefer that the tax preparation software is convenient, user friendly and affordable.
