TurboTax is easy to use. The Desktop is faster than the online. It has suited our family for decades.
My only strong suggestion would be that when a category, like Income, is being done, the program should remember where it was (what sub-category was next after the one just completed) so the user does not have to page down and page down past items they have already dealt with. At the end of the category, it could show the whole list once again and ask "any changes?"

TurboTax not as helpful as the past

I have used Turbo Tax for years without any problems and no assistance needed, but this year an apparent problem came up(from the comments on the community board) I sent a "service" email and did eventually get an apparent solution but turned out nothing was solved. I eventually went with solutions from "experts" on TurboTax community questions and answers page.

Good but needs input redesign and streamlining

Turbo Tax does the math and does it well except for accrued interest adjustments. The user input interfaces, however, could you some updating and streamlining. Having to repeatedly answer the same questions over and over and over again makes us go directly to the forms to input.
Once you are in the Forms section, not every item on a form has a drill-down subledger attached to it which makes it difficult to find the problem if a line has a value when it shouldn't. Some worksheets are incomplete and a mess to read (e.g.1099-INT and 1099-DIV data.) The 2024 capital gains input screens required more clicking than before to get to the section you needed to input. Useless intermediate landing pages were added. Just make a matrix like the one the 1099-B is using and that would go a long way in making it easier. Also add back the Box references for the covered vs non-covered items. It is time consuming to have to read the descriptions every time instead of seeing the Box designations.
