Still a good choice for most returns

Had an issue with entering 1099-MISC that caused 10 errors in Smart Check. I have had this issue in previous years. Looked up the question from previous years and found the solution from those years also worked for tax year 2024. Other than this recurring issue that is unique to my return, TurboTax is still my choice that allows me to have full understanding of my income and tax situation.

Good Software but you are slipping

I've used your software since the late 1990's and this is the first year I had issues with the software. The issue was the State of CT would not file saying it wasn't ready. I entered the email address to be notified and within a few hours was told the State 1040 was ready. But the TurboTax said it was not. Upon reading a tip from TurboTax, I deleted my cache and cookies which didn't work. Then the other tip was to delete the software and reload it, that worked. In all my time using your software this is a first. I'm not sure if you are spending so much time trying to get people to use your tax preparer service and are losing site that you are a software provider. You actually make it hard to buy the desktop software on your site which amazed me. Again, I've used your software for 20+ years, I know what I want but it makes you go through asking all your questions. And the incessant pushing to sell me your tax preparer service was annoying. I was always very vocal to friends and family that using your software makes doing taxes easy. Not sure about that anymore.

Some Bugs

The overall product is good. However, there were a few glitches this year.
Initially, I could not enter my property tax data. I had to call support and wait a week for the bug to be fixed
Secondly. the 1099-INT section would not allow me to delete obsolete payers from last year. I had to fill in fake numbers and data before I could delete these items.

Works great. Just one issue

The section on 1099-DIV and 1099-B is absolutely the best when it comes to importing. However, Reviewing by opening various sections caused this annoying jump in the frame that was both distracting and disorienting at times. This was on a MAC iOS laptop. I felt I had to go through this area several times before I felt confident that everything was imported correctly.

Turbo Tax Never Disappoints

Have been using Turbo Tax since 2014; Easy to use. Noticed a change for 2024. Does not take through all possible income and expenses even when you opt to have Turbo Tax to 'ask.' Almost missed a deduction and reporting of a 1095A.
