What No CD???

I do not like the fact that I could not buy the CD at a store as I have done so many years in the past. It took my computer several hours to download the software. Yes, it is old.

Nice but frustrating

I like e-file features, cuts down on redundant year to year entries. Keeps me up to date on new tax changes. Double checks for errors and overlooked items, saves time and checks my personal computations for errors. It easily allows me to see long turn trends, etc. That's all nice. But the last few years, especially this year, I have spent more time trying to get updates, print specific forms, get a straight answer for a very simple question from "AI" then it took do my return. The last step, Transmit my taxes was an astronomical feat and it took a lot of luck.

There was a form included that shouldn't have been there and it kept me from e-filing my returns. I spoke with two representatives and after about a total of 1-1/2 hours we were successful in deleting the form and e-filing my returns! Hallelujah!

Great when you are in the right place.

The process works well. But this year, without the disk caused confusion. Suggestion: When listing "getting started", inform the user that if they had used the disk in previous years, they are to choose Besktop.. As a Senior Citizen I made the mistake of choosing online, and wound up in a mess of problems. I finally found a phone number and Cherie was amazing! Stayed with me and was gracious the whole time, and we got me back where I belonged.

The most frustrating thing so far about filing this year was when your software told me I could sign in using my password or get a number sent to my phone. When I opted for the phone code it told me I could sign in using my password or get a number sent to my email. Then when I did that it told me I had to sign in using my password. Maybe you could skip all those steps and have people enter those things and change their password all at once or just tell us to use our passwords?
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I moved, I bought or sold investments, I had a baby

Turbo Tax is the best

Great overall experience with Fed + State eFile. Have used Turbo Tax for years. After having already paid for the software, the additional $25 + tax filing fee for the state return is always super deflating at the end of the experience, unfortunately. That fee should go away. You should just increase the initial price of the software if you need to charge a state filing fee. The fee at the end of everything is a disappointment.
