Turbo Tax steals your free file.

2nd year in a row my one free state e-file disappeared. Last year I gave up but this year I spent an hour on the phone making someone figure it out. DON'T GIVE UP!! Ask for a supervisor!!

Needs Streamlining for Simple Returrns

For simple year-over-year tax preps, TT could be more streamlined. If I know that I'm going to end up taking the Standard Deduction, why ask things like previous year State refund (you already know that), charitable giving, property taxes, etc. This year TT got bound up with the charitable giving (which was the same as last years). I'd input the same values and then it was say "Skip This for Now" and not save the new entry. I tried deleting the charity and re-entering all the data and it would not save my 'changes'. Very frustrating, when in the end, it's not going to change that TT is going to select the Std. Deduction. Also, for one of my 1099-R's TT has me re-verify my entries about 4 times. It has always done this. It's good to have to re-check the entries once, but all I care about is that it's the same as last years entries. TT should be more intelligent when it can back check entries from previous year(s).

Turbo Tax is so easy, just follow the instructions, answer the questions, transcribe the information from the various forms, and that is it. Simple, takes very little time, gets filed and all you do is wait on the notices. Used for years, and will continue.
