I couldn't be more obtuse when it comes to taxes, finances, investments, etc. The fact that I can even get through the process is amazing to me.

Turbo Tax Review

The AI generated responses with pretty simple questions were not helpful. If I googled the question I could get better information from intuit or other resources. I would prefer to e-file but turbo tax did not support one of the SC forms and had to file the state by mail. It is not intuitive that you have to stay on the first screen you are not going to e-file the Federal return to get the option on the next screen to file the state by mail. Again the AI response was not helpful and had to google to get an intuit response.
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I bought or sold investments

Major Flaw

Turbo tax has a major flaw in that I allowed my taxes to be filed without direct deposit information. Now that all refunds must be direct deposit this is a problem. and the AI advise doesn't give a good answer how to update bank information. I also don't see away to amend a return. Hopefully you will make a correction.

Rounding Error

Turbo Tax forced an avoidable rounding error. My total of IRA RMDs was $x76.57, which TT rounded UP to $x77, while my total of IRA distributions was $x76.61, which TT rounded DOWN to $x76, creating a $1 shortfall that needed an explanation on my return.
Pros: My employment status changed this year

TurboTax was great, but is declining

I have used TurboTax for several years now, and have always been very happy with it until this year. This year, the interface had tiny font, with no way to increase it. It was also glitchy in that when asking about how long one of my kids lived with us, I chose 4 months, and the software kept changing it to 6 months. Furthermore, there was no "Help" feature, which would have been useful, particularly in trying to understand what it was asking. And it referred to the incorrect line on the VA State tax form. So it's only barely made the 4 star rating, where in years past it would have been 5 stars.
