Considering switching to another program

2025 version of Turbo Tax seemed to be less user friendly and missing helpful features. May look for a different tax program next year.

TurboTax is a go to software for Tax Return

Turbo Tax has been my go to software to prepare Tax return for more than 30 years. The key reason for me is accuracy, interface (especially the step by step vs using the form) for data entry. The E-file also compliment the product and make the whole Tax submission process a breeze.

TurboTax issues

Filled out two returns. Other than transferring in from 2024, no problems on the first as I never made an error. The second one I did not answer correctly on RMD or on WI rent paid without heat. Took hours to correct RMD info and now showing up as pension instead of RMD. The WI $300 credit does not show up on return. So here I go again, trying to fix myself.

I have been using Turbo Tax for so long I honestly can't remember when I started. I believe it would have been around 1990, but perhaps even a year or two earlier.

Always liked TurboTax until 2025 taxes

I've been using TurboTax for years and have been happy with it, with only occasional minor hiccups. But this year, there were multiple issues. Forms that were not available when I wanted to file my taxes, and the annoyance of not being able to go back into my medical expenses to update them, for example. I was also shocked that they tried to charge me another $40 for deducting the state filing charges from my federal refund. This year, I had to learn to go look at each of the forms because I could not trust what TurboTax was doing. I am not sure that will be using TurboTax again in the future.
