Great software most of the time

This year the software is a bit wonky. Followed the instructions on part "C" to the letter but the software kept asking for a company name where there is none . Instructions say "if none leave blank". Took 3 tries and an update before the completed package allowed transmission.

Am I required to file a state return?

In the Iowa state return Turbo Tax tells me how to determine if I am required to file a state return but doesn't pull the numbers together for me which would have saved me much time and aggravation.
