unable to print - error when trying to to print paper copies or to file paper returns "unable to print try again later". this is unacceptable and forces you to purchase state e-filing. i want a 25$ refund for this forced purchase.

Software worked well except it refused to accept an entry where a place for the entry was provided. I do not know why. I could not clear out the '$0' and put in my entry. It was the entry for medical premiums.

In the "explanation help", providing definitions of "tax" words/jargon would be helpful.

Better if more thorough description to compare

Description of different TT products should be more thorough before the buying stage. Half way through the use of Delux, I got a message that it would be better to use Premium for dealing with retroactive payments for disability benefits from both Army civil service (OPM) and SSDI. Although TT showed a message to upgrade for $25 - a reasonable price - I like to shop around PRIOR to buying TT product. I have to file an amended return for that year anyhow, but was annoying.

Very hard to print. you charge for state e-file....$50 for two states vs .78 post stamp
I like to keep files separate for each state and could not print them separately .

Granny tax preparer.

For initial entries on different types of income and expenses, going through the page by page to edit your entries for first time OK. When you go back and change or add additional items for income and expenses, you should be able to go directly to the entry page and not go through the verification pages for the income or expense that you are adding to. This is very time consuming and irritating if you are entering your info on a day to day or time to work on basis. It's very redundant.

Too many misses, I'm using a professional in 2025.

First off, cost me thousands of dollars a few years ago by incorrectly directing me to pay state taxes in the year I moved from a state with no income tax. It led me to pay state taxes to my new state for dividends and other earnings that came before I was a resident. It was too late to claw it back by the time I realized the error.
Two errors this year almost cost me several thousand. First, it mishandled IRA transactions and had me paying taxes on $13,000 that was tax free. Fortunately my financial advisor was able to help me find where TT had made an incorrect assumption and we fixed it in the forms. While making that correction, I noticed that I had accidentally duplicated data in a 1099-NEC & 1099-MISC, so I was paying taxes twice on the same earnings. None of its internal checks raised a warning that I had two identical earnings from identical sources. That placeholder -MISC form amounted to an extra $1000 tax burden!
TL;DR: Yeah, TT costs less than hiring an accountant. In my case, I got what I paid for, and the hours I spent diving into uncertain situations and divining answers from complex forms and the anxiety of not wanting to have a follow-up chat with the IRS were not worth the savings.
Pros: My employment status changed this year
