TurboTax has Seriously Deteriorated

I have used TurboTax for over 25 years but in recent years the quality has deteriorated to the point where I am looking for an alternative. Our 2023 tax return had arithmetic errors (truly) which would have cost us a lot and in 2024, the efile function, which we paid for, did not work.

Excellent software and very convenient. The only issue is this year it took me a long time to enter my license code and download the software.

Filing was a pain

It is ludicrous that you would charge $40 for direct deposit. That comes from the government. When I didn't do direct deposit I didn't get the $10 credit. When I tried to have the fee taken out of my return, bang, $40 charge. The credit card payment won't allow me to select 11 for the month. Start over with another credit card. Inexcusable.

Only one problem.

I love the product, except that there is a glitch in the K-1 (1065) section that wont resolve and the program then won't e-file so I end up having to print and mail my returns. Otherwise it's great.

31 tax seasons, still satisfied

I've used TurboTax to file my taxes almost every year for the last 31 years. I use the forms view, not the interview, which saves me time since I pretty well know what I'm doing. I used competitor's products a couple times but was happier with TurboTax, particularly once I got used to it, which saves me time versus changing products periodically. You still need to know what's applicable and carefully review the results, but TurboTax makes the job manageable. Overall, 2 thumbs up!
