TurboTax is great, but may not be for everyone

TurboTax is great piece of software, but it may not be for everyone. If you have a simple return and source of income, then it's great for you. However, if you have a return that is moderately complicated with various sources of income, W-2, short and long-term investments, rentals, proprietorships, K-1s, 1099-xxx, etc., and different type of expenses, then you must have a fair knowledge of what you are doing. Relying strictly on the interview process may land you in hot water as it will not guide you through everything. You must know enough to ensure that you've filed all the required forms or at the very least be able to search the Internet for solutions. You can't search for a solution if you don't know what the problem is. TT is not a magic wand and certainly not a substitute for a professional tax preparer if you are a novice at this.

Functional, but tired of bizarre errors

It takes so long to finalize my return because of strange errors related to my K-1 statements. By the time I clear the errors, I'm less confident my return was accurate than before I started trying to fix them.

Mostly great, but a few errors waste most time

Great guidance most of the time, but I wasted 95% of my time on just a few places with little guidance. This typically relates to some entries in K1, S-Corp, etc. Also, too many logins, too many verifications of phone number/emails, too many re-entries of bank checking account and routing numbers. This could be automated.

FL does not have returns! Could not efile

Florida does not require tax returns, I got stuck in a loop and could not efile, it kept asking me to file my state returns. I had to print and mail my returns.

Makes me mad that you stopped supporting older versions. I paid for them and should be able to use them for as long as I want. There was not something in the licensing agreement that that said it was only good for a certain period of time. So I my opinion you are in breach of contract and at a minimum should refund my cost.

it is very complicated; i input twice and each time was different. first time was not accurate. I turned off laptop and all input info disappeared. very frustrating
