Extremely good, but...

Whole application is extremely good year after year.
But for tax year 2024, entering INT, DIV, CG, MISC manually (bypassing electronic download from source institution) was very awkward. /tjp 818/25

Turbo Tax becoming more cumbersome

I have been a Turbo Tax user for more than 20 years. I have found the more recent versions 22, 23, 24 as more convoluted and not as straight forward as it used to be. The changes from year to year makes it more difficult to use the previous version as a model to enter the new year updated information. I like the import function of info from previous year. The back button did not work on several occasions, sometimes during the final reviews I found the software going into a repeat loop; after telling me everything was perfect moving into the audit alert check, when I hit the continue button on the audit probability screen, it would send me back to start another final review. The loop repeated 3 times and the proceeded to the next step.
When doing the CA state tax return i encountered an error on a capital gain entry where I had entered the wrong company name. I went to the federal side to fix the error and saved the return, but the state return continued to have the error. I wish there was a way to go back to the step to repeat the transfer of data from the federal return to the state return to avoid this issue. Noticed a Bug that when doing CA state return, it would not display the taxes owed or credit. IT showed 000 and labeled as WA state taxes even thou, I did not request or have a need to file WA income taxes.
After all I was able to complete my tax returns hopefully accurately, but it was not as easy.

Turbotax was Frustrating.

The process was too cumbersome and frustrating. Some of the tax forms did not exist in Turbotax.
