glitch in turbotax caused the error.- PIN problem

submitted on the 15th. IRS rejected the return due to a data error e.g. pin. the pins were correct. glitch in turbotax caused the error. Now my return is late. probably will be penalitzed.

Every year I complete my Fed/State and think they are already submitted.
Put in large letters that the forms have not been submitted.

Turbo Tax is Great

I do taxes for five of us and I changed PC before starting this year. I had Turbo Tax put into the new PC but couldn't pull up last year. The girl I spoke with at Turbo Tax spent a long time but we finally got what I needed. I Volunteered with TAX AIDE for almost 20 yrs so doing taxes with a program was somewhat like TT. Though I do have alot of problems when I go back to find the spot to change something, like where to add an email address when I am almost finished with the return.

This year my taxes kept getting rejected time after time. EACH TIME i HAD TO GO ON AND GET ADVERTISMENTS FOR TAX ADVICE, TAX SUPPORT AND TAX ADVANTAGE. Very annoying and NO HELP on how to fix the issues.

Cumbersome to download. Had to repeat some steps several times.
State return can sometimes not be submitted electronically for varying reasons. Sometimes are not informed of that until after fee for state download has been paid. No mechanism for then getting that fee refunded.
I entered requested driver license number, issue date, and expiration date for both my wife and me, then on the next screen was informed our state does not require that! Wasted my time unnecessarily.
Appreciate being taken step by step through the return, so nothing is missed.

Downloading On-Line Difficult

Installing turbo tax to Windows 10 PC was very difficult even with tech help. I had to eventually file for an extension until I could install the software. I never had this problem with the disk and wonder if downloading all from the Internet was the issue.

I've used TurboTax for almost 20 years. But I was very frustrated with it this year. Changing the way interest, dividends and capital gains are entered is confusing and frustrating - especially trying to get them all under one investment product. And going through e-filing was also difficult - so many error traps (while good, their resolution is difficult to understand. Finally, I don't appreciate having to pay for one State filing. I accidently chose a State and then was not allowed that free State filing. Too manu changes - to short of time. Very frustrating after so many years of good experience.
