Year after year, TurboTax delivers on its promise, making filing income taxes manageable and finishing the task on time. Everyone needs different tax advice; tax laws are complex, and the process is tedious. TurboTax breaks it up into manageable steps and guides the user through the filing process. Along the entire path, TurboTax gives short and clear instructions and offers tips for further help and explanations. Its superb dialog with the user is exemplary for how a complex software tool can successfully assist humans.

Desktop Turbotax RULES all tax preparation

You don't need to leave your house to do your taxes, or need to hire a professional, or use any of the cookie-cutter tax services. I'd bet that those places actually use turbotax in the background lol. It asks every pertinent question, and provides good clarification and explanation to literally everything. If you still are uncertain, there is a wealth of help available. I've used TT for over 15 years and will never use another product if they keep doing what they are doing. MAXIMUM REFUND EVERY TIME.

Excellent software...

I have been using TurboTax since 1984 (on a MacPlus) to the present day (on a MacPro) and it has been the only Tax software that I have relied on. However, I will admit that it has gotten more complected since 1984. What ever happened to the concept of a 3x5 card tax return?

Great improvements!

I've used TT for probably 30 years or more. The improvements in that time, especially in recent years, are great. I did not engage with an agent. I did use the search quite a bit and it was helpful as I was filing non-resident for the first time.
