Trash software from a trash company

Product is overpriced. Company spends MILLIONS every year lobbying our government to prevent the creation of free, easier-to-use alternatives. Payment at the very end NEVER works: every year I have to spend an hour googling for the same stupid hack because they can't get their basic payment system working.

I have always sworn on Turbo Tax, but now...

I have used TT for over 20 years now and have always been satisfied. For the first time, I filed at the last hour and could not find any of my W2s. I downloaded copies from the IRS website, but those copies had no state information. I wound up owing the state a lot since I could not enter any taxes paid. The one time I depended on TT to download the W2s and populate the fields, TT failed me. What a bummer. Now I wonder what else TT cannot do, that it is supposed to do, just because I never needed it to. Now, I really start to wonder if I am really getting the max refund I should be getting. What else is TT leaving out.

Decent Product With Deceptive $$ Grab Built In

TurboTax product is good at interview process to determine income and deductions, but when it comes time to file Intuit tries over an over again to grab money in moderately deceptive ways. $45 fee for "Premium Turbo Tax Servicing" was coming from. It is the service they charge to use your Federal return to pay the fee that the product itself charges to electronically file a California state return. In other words... Intuit plainly offers a service to file for $20 then tries to charge an additional $45 for servicing AFTER showing a screen with different totals. Total scam to file state return electronically and use your fed return to pay for the state filing (which is free to do on the state website in the first place, btw). Shame on you TurboTax and Intuit. Shame on you.

I have used Turbo Tax for so many years that can't even remember. This is the first time I rated four stars instead of five. This is because the software requirements were not clear. Please next year just list the complete list of acceptable Mac OS that are compatible, not just two line items.
