TT Software is GREAT! Refund Processing Fee isn't.

Love TT for the actual completion of taxes, but the whole refund processing fee is a bit much. I'll do things differently next year. I just wanted to get it done this year.

Good, but needs improvement in education expenses

I'm a long time user of the Turbo Tax Deluxe program. It has always been good for my circumstances; however, I do suggest that you update your step by step questions in the section on education loan interest because the program tried to say I couldn't claim interest paid on my parent plus loan for a previous dependent, but he was my dependent when the loan was taken out so it still qualifies. IRS Publication 970 is the reference where I found this info, so I updated the form directly myself. Your step by step interview should also ask about capitalized interest & fees which are eligible to claim as well. I've calculated the changes myself, but it might be helpful for others for turbo tax to keep track of it like it does depreciation for other aspects.

I have used Turbo Tax to prepare taxes for many years and absolutely love it. It makes the process quick and easy no matter what changes have occurred that affect what we need to report in our household. I would give it a 5 star rating if the program could be formated to larger on-screen font for tired eyes.

You CAN get it fast cheap AND good...

I remember this product costing more? Pretty seamless all around, though I have to say I only use these services in years where things are less complicated. I may have missed some high-end sophisticated and risky deductions, but this was quick and easy and cheap. The old phrase "You can get it fast and cheap, but it's not going to be good" does not apply in this case!

Very buggy

Very buggy. Didn't allow to print state tax for filing and only option was to pay for e-file. Incorrectly calculated EITC and school expenses for my children.

Schedule C needs more assistance

Had some income that forced me to file a Schedule C. TurboTax really left me in the dark on that section, and I'm still not sure I completed it correctly. In the past, TurboTax has been a good tax filing program for me to use. I think I'll be going to a tax filing agency next year.

Easy to File - Use Every Year

Easy to File, especially when you use every year, as Turbo Tax gathers last year's return as input into current year. The ability to import data from financial institutions is a definite plus and help avoids errors.
