Reciprocal state entry issues.

Turbo tax has an issue with Kentucky schedule ITC. Still (this is my third time filing this form) does not enter information on the form based on questions asked. Then (after I find the form and fill it in) it refuses to accept "wages" as the form of payment received in the reciprocal state.

Earned Income vs. Retired Income

Recommend better visibility up front for people with 1099R taxes to file.
Instead of just Income Title, say Earned Income and Retired Income.
If I follow blindly (especially for the first time), sometimes I miss where to ut mu 1099R info because its mixed in with other types of 1099s.

TurboTax has been dumbed down

The program appears to be unstable and instructions for "pensions as 'deferred benefit plans'" is weak and leads to uncorrectable errors. Corrected a pension to be a deferred benefit plan, for Alabama taxes, but the program kept giving me an error. I could not correct the error, and the penalty calculation page keeps printing. Spent too much time researching this issue that TurboTax does not even attempt to clarify for each State. This is a problem!! The time spent researching outweighs the cost of TurboTax. It appears I need to refile my 2023 taxes to recoup the state taxes paid in 2023. If TurboTax has weakened the content of the program to sell their costly assistance service - shame on you.
