After 25 years, leaving TurboTax

I've used TurboTax for probably 25+ years, and I always found it reliable, knowledgeable, and effective. That's all changed this year: I'm seriously frustrated by the lack of attention and notification paid to incurring a penalty for Underpayment of Taxes. If I hadn't randomly checked the Tax Summary, I would have never known about it--it happened last year and I did not catch it and it would have saved me over $100 in total between the two years--. As a result of this negligence, we are exploring the possibility of using a CPA next year. TurboTax was negligent and paid more attention to cheering on the user with "Yay for getting a deduction" than actually drawing attention to losing money.

TurboTax 2024 is Manegable

Rather manageable via the step-by-step. It is not as user friendly as it once was in years past, with less explanations throughout the process. Fortunately, I am familiar with how to navigate the software and the tax language as I have been using it annually for nearly a decade.

Been using TurboTax for 20+ years and the software continues to be intuitive and streamlined. One of the best features is the tax comparisons for the previous year against the current filing year. This makes the process of entering and filing easier to catch changes or missing information.
