I have always found TurboTax to be the easiest to use. I have tried others but ended up going back to the store and buying TurboTax. I have used TurboTax since 2001.

The desktop product is so janky. It really made me want to abandon it. And then I can't believe that you're charging $25 for a basic state online filing that I can quickly go do online. Your awful software feels scammier every year, constantly trying to push more upsell purchases on people. The open source freeware alternatives are really catching up and I think what I need to use from this point forward. And we need to vote for people who will push for tax reform where people like me, who have really basic returns, don't really need to do anything other than sign to agree with what our jobs submitted.

TurboTax was recommended to me years ago and it has never disappointed. The questions guide you through so much with help explaining choices to you. I had to manually add form 8962 and form 1095-
A, but those should be uncommon for most people. Everything else was so easy and instills confidence in the results.
