Charged for State Filing When it was to be Include

I am upset that the software package purchased includes state filing, but I was charged $25 to file my state taxes anyway. Sneaky and unacceptable as they wanted me to print and mail apparently after searching online when others complained similarly.

it's very confusing and it is very limited to what we can deduct. Too many ads to suck more many out of you is constantly popping up.

1099-Div Nominee Problem
on April 14, 2025

You start out by saying "now let's get you the largest refund". But I've been using TT for years and now I know I have not been getting the largest possible refund. My wife and I file 'married filing separately'. I have been using the nominee option for all shared 1099-Div income. I found out this year, TT only handles the box 1a dividend portion appropriately with the specified percentages. However, box 2 'capital gains' portion is not split, and in fact both people pay tax on the CG portion. TT should 1) correct that situation in the software, and 2) alert your customers to pay attention there to "get them the largest possible refund".
