Turbotax helped and guided me prepare. my Federal and State returns that I was able to finish the filing on time. The software fee is worth it.

Not pleased about the surprise $40 fee for processing refunds. Saw no mention of this fee until the very end when it was time to transmit returns. Would be much happier if you disclose potential costs earlier in the process. Felt deceptive.

Buggy and Shady

I may have to switch back to H&R Block Software next year. While it has a couple bugs too, it doesn't have the privacy concerns, making it a better value for the cost.
1) Transferring previous year's info from an H&R Block PDF caused the AGI to be 2 orders of magnitude (!!) too high... it appended 11 (the AGI line number) to my AGI. What else did it scan and transfer incorrectly? Why can't I view all the info in transferred like I can in H&R Block software, so I can verify it? After I discovered this error **and corrected it** during underpayment penalty calculations, TurboTax didn't remember my correction when it wanted the AGI again during submission!
2) It didn't prompt me to enter my bank routing info for my MD state refund when choosing NOT to efile.
3) Have to sign in to TurboTax Online for activation, downloading state software, and importing forms. Who knows what is being transferred to / through TurboTax. I'm choosing to pay extra to buy TurboTax's downloadable product specifically so it doesn't engage with TurboTax's Online databases, and forcing me to sign in eliminates that benefit.

Turbo needs to fix EIN issue
