Consider the market and competition

While the software worked as expected (although there were response delays at some process points and the rendering of the PDF printout almost seemed like the software had locked up the PC), the biggest disappointment is the market approach from Intuit trying to squeeze out the free filing created by the federal government. It smacks of how the banks treat credit unions even though the credit union amount of banking is tiny compared to what the banks already have (can you say 97 or 98 percent banks to 1 to 2 percent to credit unions). It definitely makes me consider either changing to a different brand or using the free filing next year if a company cannot allow there to be competition by attempting to stifle it by having the oligarch try to get the government shut down.

For people who are very inexperienced & apprehensive about tax & software stuff- this was very easy to use & in spite of this being the first year without an option to buy the CD version, it (fingers crossed) went very well- Thank you!

Time Saving Software with Step by Step Directions

We have used Turbo Tax since 1992 and it is the only software I would consider. However, this is the first year we received a 1099-K and it was difficult to figure out how to document the online net profit and expenses. The 1099 listed gross income which included sales tax, shipping fees, etc. I had to somehow deduct the cost of the original cost of the item as well as subtracting all the expenses from the gross the 1099 listed. After a plethora of research outside of Turbo Tax, I think I figured out how to list expense items correctly.
