Surprise Ending

The input method for 1099's has changed from previous years.
I prefer the old method.
The biggest issue was at the filing step.
I filed electronically and all went well.
Clicked on Continue button and got a screen that said "Print and Mail These Forms to the Government".
SAY WHAT !!!
I took a screenshot of this.
Ignored it and save the PDF's of return and all the forms as usual.
Turbo Tax needs to fix this.

This is relatively easy to use but be sure to read everything. The pop-out explanations are helpful clarifications, too. The only surprise is that the state filing fee was double of what was included in the explanation when I purchased the product.

Overall the process was fairly straight forward. The import function failed to import all capital gains/losses from the previous year. It also incorrectly imported my AGI from 2023 Tax Form causing my initial 2024 tax submission to be REJECTED. Additionally, this years (2024) version seemed to be more difficult to navigate than previous year versions when using the forms view.

Disappointing Mac version of the Turbotax 2024

My experience with the Mack version of Turbotax this year was horrible! The existing Mac software covers up some of the important buttons in the Turbotax software. The "Continue" and "Go" buttons have to be discovered underneath the dock items on the latest version of iMac software (MacOS Version 15.3.2}. It is a tedious process to find the continue button or go button! Very unworkable and a surprise from the Good Mac Turbotax software of last year.

I've been doing my taxes for about 60 years. I've used Turbo Tax for the past 10 years. It is so much easier to be guided through the tax forms than reading the instructions. 😉
