It certainly helps you do more than you could trying to fill out these forms by yourself, but I think it could be a LOT more intuitive and that TurboTax should begin relying on AI to help us. I was able to find out so much from GROK while doing this. And that was for simple stuff that TurboTax should already know.
Additionally, at the end, when it gives you instructions on how to file (especially for state taxes). It says what forms you MIGHT need to include. Well, I already input all my forms, so it should know EXACTLY which forms I need to include. Instead of giving me generic instructions, give me instructions that are specific to me. You have the information, just tell me exactly what I need to include.

extra charge for e-file state tax

Turbotax always is trying to sell you more stuff, when you typically don't need it. The questions are poorly worded. The software (MAC) crashes and doesn't save. It sometimes doesn't update fields when they are changed. I went through a worksheet for the foreign earned income credit. I filled out all the answers to the questions, it changed my total tax, and then told me I didn't get the credit. But if i didn't get the credit, why was what I owed changed? The credit is then listed on my summary. Did I earn it or not? I'll be looking for different software next year.
