Numerous software glitches

This year, 2024, is the first year I have had reliability problems with TurboTax Deluxe software. I found several errors that took me a great deal of time to fix. For example, I entered the figures on a 1099 form once, but I found that two separate forms, with identical figures, appeared in the TurboTax forms on my computer. That resulted in showing the amount of income as double the actual amount. After researching the issue, I found that others had the same problem in a prior year. Based on instructions from a TurboTax support person posted on the TurboTax Community portal, I corrected the problem by deleting the forms and re-entering the information. I also had problems several times downloading TurboTax updates. That apparently resulted in changes in the figures I had entered on various forms. After doing research, I learned how to manually download the updates, which fixed the problem. All of this added up to a big waste of my time.

MONEY GRAB - not worth it

If I could give less I would - this is turning into a forced money grab. I DON'T want audit defense; I DON'T want auto renewal. The initial price of software is more than the program is worth.

Turbo Tax is easy and great to use!

If you have a pretty simple tax form to do then this is the easiest I have found. If you need help there is an advisor you can contact. Have used it for a couple of years now and like I said, easy to use.

It's not easy, and it takes a lot of time to finish. However, if I know I will use the standard deduction in the beginning, I will save time.
