Turbo Tax Good but Can be better

Product is good, but did not actually pull in all of my 2023 data from last year for comparison. Had working on my laptap and saved but file was lost / missing after a Microsoft 365 update. Product is still "kludgy" but may be my laptop. Have scanned but cannot find my original 2024 file started even though I saved but had the dollar amount which matched after quickly plowing back through everything.

TURBO TAX PROBLEMS

too difficult to use. HAVE TO TYPE IN 1099R FORMS EVERY YEAR WHEN ONLY THE TAXABLE INCOME AND TAXES WITHHELD CHANGE. THAT MEANS PAYER INFO, ADDRESS, AND TIN ETC ALL HAVE TO BE TYPED IN FOR OVER 8 ACCOUNTS.

Work-around

Well, for one moment Turbo Tax had me boomeranging back to the 1095-A, which I did not receive...I received the 1095-B. I could not escape the page no matter how I attempted to obviate it. I finally got wise and looked for a way to delete the page...and I found it from a browser search Q & A. In less than two minutes the page was deleted and I was finally able to e-file my return, albeit 12 hours later. The page was superfluous!

Difficult at first for a retired tax filer. Had to go over forms twice to correct. Should be instructions if no W-2 income to jump directly to next form

Filing RMD Was Difficult

Filing federal information about required minimum distributions (RMD) is difficult, and Turbotax could add a bit more explanation to ease the process. Further, figuring out New Jersey information about RMDs was impossible. Specifically the question about "estimated total return" lacked guidance. I ended up guessing. That is not acceptable. Other than that, Turbotax is excellent.
