Left out something critical

Overall, ok, but it did NOT suggest what to enter in the SSN field because my French husband who still lives in France (we're awaiting his work visa). I had to make multiple phone calls before speaking to the IRS International tax law expert to tell me what to enter.

Turbo tax 2024 vs the past

I have used turbo tax for years and in the past would give it 5 stars. This year they changed the format form stocks, Interest and dividends and it is horrible if you have many accounts. other than that it is still very good.

Donations--Standard deduction or itemize guidance

To better decide whether to itemize or take a standard deduction, TurboTax should provide the threshold amount of itemized deductions upfront that makes it better to itemize. I'm sure that threshold is in the software somewhere. But users should not have to hunt for it. Users should not have to enter every charity's details (name, address, amount of donation) only to find out that the cumulative amount is not large enough to exceed the standard deduction. Don't make users do unnecessary work. Users can do a quick summation of their charitable donations along with deductions such as mortgage interest to determine whether it's worth the time to enter the required details.
