Our "Go To" for years

Used it for years and to stays very consistent and is quick and easy to use. I do not like the Intuit account process and all the cumbersome & confusing interactions with that, so I download to desktop and do everything from there.

Thoroughly Satisfied Except . .

The Tax software itself is thorough and guides an individual through various income/deduction scenarios, however there is no guidance on e-Filing attachments (typically for mail-in returns). After waiting on hold for 15 min or so, I finally got 'help' assistance from an individual w/Intuit that no scans/uploads of W-2's, 1099's, etc. previously sent to the IRS need to be attached. Perhaps this could be clarified in the software.
The other 'surprise' is that TurboTax charges an individual $ 25 for a State E-File despite my having purchased a TurboTax Deluxe (Federal + One State) . . who knew there would be a "gotcha" at the State E-file! Its like getting a Triple-Bogey on the 18th after a great round of golf . . leaves a bad taste! lol

Entering 1099 R & B information

Comment and question. I made a mistake in reporting 1099R information and am wondering if Turbo tax is equipped to catch it (or should have caught it.) When I received 1099R’s from my broker, I entered the information manually. When I received 1099B from my broker I downloaded it electronically. However, I also inadvertently downloaded the 1099R information for the second time as well. The result was entering twice as much 1099R income information as I should have.
Is that something the error checking feature should/could have caught? The numbers were identical.
Realizing it was my error I take responsibility for it, but I was hoping the error check might have given me an assist.

I have been using Turbo Tax for more than 10 years and found it easy and convenient to use. I am familiar with all the tabs and steps and appreciate the frequent periodic updates and the tax advice offered through the filing process.
