Decades Using TurboTax - It Gets Better and Better

Overall, TurboTax Deluxe does an excellent job guiding me through the tax preparation process, asking questions to properly prepare my return.
An issue and a recommendation:
The issue, which was time consuming to resolve, was regarding Qualified Charitable Deductions (QCD) from my IRA. This is the reason for 4 of 5 stars. I had to figure out and find where to designate the QCD amount to avoid a penalty for not taking sufficient RMD. Solution: Have a section of questions "Did you make Qualified Charitable Deductions", and followup questions accordingly.
The recommendation is in the area of Standard or Itemized Deductions. I know the Standard Deduction is my best choice. Asking a question to that effect at the start of the section and allowing the process to then flow accordingly would save time.

TT Deluxe - generally good enough

Generally, the product and performance I expected. My only complaint is that the in program Help Agent (Help tab not live help) didn't come up with specific instructions to any search term containing deductions - as in "is supplemental vision insurance deductible", it came back with very general info on deduction definitions and non-useful links to other topics.

Turbo Tax gets the job done.

Once I had all of my paper work, I crused through the program with little to no hiccup. There was a moment when I didn't understand the language about inputing W-2 information or pension info. I took a beat, back tracked and corrected the misunderstanding. After that, it was smooth sailing.

Review Title???? Dumb!!

I have used Turbo Tax for probably 10 years now. I believe the software is excellent; however, I would recommend that if you require added information (such as the government stipulated RMD amount which was new this year), you highlight the change. I had to make several calls to get that number.

pretty ease to use and with good filing guide to walk thru all filing sections; only one thing that TurboTax seems to have not figured out on how to download W-2 from Arizona State Department of Revenue.

When loading Turbo Tax 2024 it was determined my system was compromised and I contacted the number provided. They determined the issue and of course sold me a security package after cleaning my system.

Final steps need work!

#1. I was charged $25 twice and was told one charge would be credited. It never was.
#2. I changed my return to delete one dependent, which increased my taxes. I had already set up payment to AZ for the original amount and was not able to make only the additional tax payment when I changed my return.
#3. I have to change my computer (IMac) to Full Screen in order to see the top and/or bottom of some pages.
