Too many fees that are not clear

the amount you have to pay for each state software and then to file is not clear. I bought the software because I thought it would be cheaper than filing online based on the charges it was presenting in the overview chart, but there are a bunch of hidden fees. Turbotax should make it more straight forward to file your taxes

TurboTax is for Children

It's too difficult to review to make sure a certain number was entered, and too hard to see the bottom-line effect of a certain number. Meanwhile, the step-by-step process asks childish questions or makes childish statements, like "Now, let's get the biggest refund possible."

Please fix the bugs in the desktop application

Please fix the bugs on the desktop application. The website version does a great job but not the application. I had to transfer my website version to the desktop application this year because I had to file a separate state return from my husband since he moved to CA last year. After filling everything, it consistently gave me error saying that the 1099-B attachment was lost, so the return could not be transmitted. To fix this, I had to either pay $200 again and file it using the website version or manually enter all of my transactions from 1099-B, which is so frustrating when I already paid for the federal + two state returns for the desktop application. This forced me to manually type in everything, and this is something that could easily be fixed. Please fix this or I will not use this software ever again.

Free version is not worth the hassle in my case.

I have been using TurboTax since 2009. This year I began with the free online version, but it did not import my previous year info. I had to enter everything from scratch. My taxes owed seemed too high so I purchased TurboTax just to be sure. It still did not import my previous year info, but instead began with the info I had put into the free version. Apparently it created a new account when I began the free version. You need to work on that. I checked with a local tax expert and he confirmed that I indeed did owe the amount, so overall I'm happy.
