Improvements

Only trouble I had was blank brokerage 1099 form records the software automatically carried forward from 2023 after importing via internet my brokerage 1099 forms for 2024. Two improvements would help: a field for the brokerage account number and also a summary of 1099 entries by account number comparing last year to this year, then I know I got them all. Also, I recall some years ago when in Forms view, I could click on a number and the software would pop-up a message box showing all the entries that comprised the amount.

Its better than a calculator

TurboTax gets the taxes done but it can be frustrating. The screen almost must always be scrolled down to hit "continue". Passwords from financial institutions must be blinded type and can't be pasted (a violation of ADA). This year it was hard to figure out how to enter 1099s manually. Intuit charges more than 2% to file with a credit card. Intuit charges $25 to efile state taxes.

It might be time to try a new tax software

I had SO many questions that TurboTax didn't answer that it has in the past and then I get pestered after submitting asking why I didn't pay $60 extra to get assistance?!?!?!?
Maybe this is why I had so many issues finding answers I used to find in previous years!

Additionally, why am I having to waste time entering the same information I've already entered in previous years?

TWO ISSUES: 1, I DON'T FEEL I NEED BUY AUDIT DEFENSE. BUT IT SEEMS I'M TRAPPED CUZ I CANNOT CONTINUE TO E-FILE. VERY UNFAIR. 2. MICHIGAN sales TAX DOES NOT SHOW SELECTION " ALL PURCHASES ARE CHARGED SALES TAX".
