Great program. Backdoor Roth could be simpler.

I had a fairly complicated tax year. We sold a house resulting in capital gains, sold numerous mutual funds for a house purchase, and backdoored some Roth IRAs. Everything was fairly simple with the exception of the IRA process. There is some confusion on recharacterizations and conversions regarding the backdoor process. The words are not interchangeable and once you input your info in incorrectly the program "holds on" to the data. It kept giving me a Roth overage, which carries a penalty. I found the only way to remove the data hold is to go back and delete all IRA info. I had to do this several times until I figured out which boxes to enter/check. The online help was good, but did not give quite enough detail. I hope I can remember the process next year. Haha. Overall, great product.

Turbo tax good, but more issues this year

Not as smooth as previous years. Had issues with accepting my credit card information when purchasing and for e-filing state returns each time I tried. It would eventually work although I'm still working on one return that i haven't been able to e-file the state yet for that reason.

Audit Defense

I have used Turbo Tax for many years now with no trouble. Until this year 2024. I got charged for Audit Defense without being given a choice to decline. I would like a refund.

Had problems updating the Turbo Tax 2024 software. It would not load the update after I had uploaded 3 updates previously. I had to manually download the update from the Turbo Tax website to get the product working again.
I have never had this problem before and I have used Turbo Tax for 15 years.
