TurboTax is a thorough software. I like the walk-through proceedures and the capability of retriving documents from banks and investment agencies online.

corrupt file error - lost all & had to start over

software user friendly and easy to use. a couple places i felt like had i not had some tax and accounting knowledge the software would not have taken me to the right place for getting some items entered. Also, much worse than that, on my final day of going in to review and submit my return, i received a "corrupt file" error message and had to start all over. so i basically did my taxes twice this year.

TurboTax State E-file sucks!

2024 TurboTax State (Ohio) is buggy! When attempting to E-file Ohio return, I was led to believe that I would be charged $20 to do the E-file. However, when I selected deducting that fee from the Federal refund, up pops an additional $40 (unadvertized) fee to deduct $20 from Fed refund. Thus, it would have cost $60 to do the state E-file. When I then tried to use a credit card to pay the $20 state E-file fee, TurboTax would not process the credit card charge. Finally, when I decided to just mail in the state return, TurboTax continued to assume I was still going to E-file the state return. I have used TurboTax for over 40 years, and this was very disappointing.
