TurboTax is the way to go

The changes in the user interface for 2024 took some getting used to. Also would have preferred to have a DVD available at the start of the process in loading the software to my computer.

Mixed (Blessing?)

Well, each year dealing with TurboTax is a mixed blessing. The most irritating problem that Intuit is becoming known for are the shadow fees. When I pay $80 for a product that claims to give me a free Fed e-file and a $25 State return, the actual case is not that at all. To e-file the State return for which I was receiving a tax REFUND, it was going to cost me $40. I'm still trying to find a way to get that return in without the fee. To send payment for my Fed tax obligation, it was going to cost me $80+ in credit card fees. Luckily, I found out that IRS takes direct payment for free. Finally, I mainly use TT for the forms as the mode in TT that leads you by the hand gives you accounting terms I don't sometimes understand and also often only 2 choices to pick that are opposite my true situation.

OK - Could be more intuitive as the brand suggests

Please make pathway easier for printing state taxes that we want to mail rather than efile. It is not intuitive - feels like Intuit's trying to wear us down into efiling the state return

Not going through this again

I have been a user of Turbo Tax since it was first developed. This will probably be the last time I use it. I spent more time on the phone with customer service trying to get an update downloaded than completing my taxes! What a waste of time. There are several options and next tax year. I will likely be using one of them
