Turbo Tax is very easy to use. It asks you all the questions you need to know to enter your tax information. It covers all aspects of your tax return and then calculates your tax responsibility.

Last year IRS found error in my taxes, the federal refund was less than as it should be. This year the return is so minimal I am shocked.. Will not use TURBO next year.

Turbo Tax Is Very Good Tax Software

We've used TurboTax for years. I used Business and Personal when I was self-employed and now that we are retired, Deluxe. It is very thorough, and user friendly. I did like it better when it had the search box on the right. Now they just keep pushing to pay for advice, though it is reasonably priced. They also used to include one state tax form for free. Still, I think the cost is pretty reasonable overall, and I got all my 1099 and K-1 Forms figured out pretty quickly.

On the whole, TurboTax does a great job of simplifying the process. Few items to consider:
* For those of us who get an IP PIN from the IRS every year, the standard page flow always skips asking about this; this has been true for many years. Would be nice if this gets asked within the step-by-step flow; currently, I have to go out of step-by-step, find the right form, and enter this IP PIN there
* A few minor glitches, such as:
~ 1099-INT state-related fields getting partially populated, even though this data wasn't entered either manually or electronically
~ Regarding home mortgage form, there's a question about whether the loan is against the purchased house; this was never asked in the step-by-step, then appeared as an error later. Probably an oversight

I've used Turbotax for quite a few years and found it to be a great product. I am disappointed that there is an upcharge to electronically file a State return. For the cost of the product, I see this as unreasonable. Upcharges for all the extras are overpriced.
