TurboTax is a useless Scam

I downloaded TurboTax and filed my taxes within one week. Each time I opened TurboTax, it had to install "new updates" which took approximately 5 minutes each time. What could have possibly changed between April 4 and April 5? Also the entire concept of TurboTax is a scam - we should not need a 3rd party service that actively lobbies Congress to not let a free tax software get developed. I should not have to pay money to a 3rd party service to be able to actually pay my taxes

Have been using Turbo Tax for year. Have never had any problems. It does seem to have gotten harder to use. This year we used the same 2 Tax payers and the program downed loaded information from last years 2023 Program.
After we finished entering information for Tax Payer #1 under Income, with did not find a message to return to Tax Payer #2 to entering Income. Eventual found the way to enter #2 income.

I am fused on e-filing and the $40 charge after it said e-filling was "free".
We are getting older and just missed instructions!
