Program Is Not User Friendly

Too hard to use. Only used again this year because I had a big capital gain last year and wanted to follow through on the information. I made the payment, the return was rejected because the IP Pin was not entered. After I corrected the IP Pin error, Turbo asked me to pay again. Geez! The program should have asked for the IP Pin during review and should not have processed the payment until all errors had been fixed. Did the IRS get the payment the first time? I hope so. Is there a way to check? File and Pay are two different issues with the IRS. Thanks for screwing this up.

Finding the License Key... who Knew

Getting started is the longest part. Who knew that the product Key and License code is the same thing. I spend 20 minutes looking before I realized that the license key and product code are the same meaning. Entering the tax information was Ok.

I've used Turbo Tax since 2008. This is the first year I've had any trouble. I had to file an amended return. I recreated the original return (reasons). Apparently, I didn't convince Turbo Tax that the recreated return was filed so even though I used the amended return button, it didn't separate the new from the old. I wish it would have prompted me to complete the filing process and/or asked me to immediately save the file with a different name. As it was, i didn't notice the "original" amounts and the amended amounts were the same until I was reviewing the printed amended return. By then, it had saved over the original return with the error embedded so my only recourse was to start again and re-enter all the information... an obvious waste of a beautiful afternoon.
