Federal Import to State Issue.

When it came to State Return, I noticed it was a very negative large -3K, super worried. Upon investigation, I discovered my error for state on a Federal Return. I picked the wrong state on 1 W2 form. In my opinion, Turbo Tax should have caught that as an error and had me re look at that specific return. Once, I saw the mistake, everything was corrected as it should be. I would hate for this to happen to someone else, not knowing that. Since you import Federal information, that is great...however there should be a check for actual states to make sure everything matches up. This mistake happened in Box 15. Been using Turbo Tax for many years, and enjoy convenience of doing this on my own.

In review, I realized I'd typed in the same 1099R twice. When I deleted it, my tax went up!! Shouldn't it have gone down when that income was deleted? In 2022, I had a terrible mess when overnight my refund/amount due changed. I discovered that several of my income sources were deleted overnite. What a mess! I don't trust Turbotax any more. I'm going to a CPA after this tax season to have the 2024 return checked over and will continue going to someone from now on.

Overall continues to be the way to file taxes. There is a bit of format change with the data collection that I found confusing, but resolved fairly quickly.

TurboTax lost my saved returns

I am disappointed with Turbotax this year. I had saved the completed returns on February, 12, 2025 and waited about 6 weeks for (1) a family member to determine whether they were a dependent or not and (2) since I was going to owe federal taxes, I was going to file closer to the April 15 deadline. When I attempted to open the return, the data was completely gone (only empty files were still there). I wonder if it was due to the fact that I agreed to do an updated upon being prompted to do so at that time. Nonetheless, an update should not wipe out your saved data. I had to start the returns all over which took hours to do.

Been using TBT for years and have found it invaluable. This year they changed their format and I don't care for it. Seems redundant to me.
