TurboTax 2024 seems less expedient and more costly

Not as user friendly as prior years. Information blocks are very general and not as informative. This year's program compelled me to pay additional $60 to answer questions whereas previous years provided a link I could interact with experts. Also, the forms are provided. however, I still had to pay a state (s) filing fee of 25$.
After cost of program software, additional fee for access to an expert, additional cost + taxes for cost of additional State form software, then additional cost of filing state forms, this year it cost me approximately $250 to use TurboTax. I think next year; I'll consider going to an accountant.

Not worth it

I went with Turbo Tax Deluxe because I expected I could just suck my 1099s from my banks and investment accounts. This just did not happen for most accounts and had to correct those that did. In addition, I completed entering and went through the review 2 weeks before I intended to file and was analyzed with 0 errors. Before I actually did file later, all of a sudden analysis showed 8 errors in 1099-Int: apparently all TIN numbers were erased and extra boxes were filled with 0's that I had to delete.

Laborious

I found the 2024 version of TurboTax to be laborious - the download process and installation of the software took 3 tries before it was successful. It took two days before I was successful. After using TurboTax for many years, this year was a nightmare for me.

My first time

This is my first time using Turbo Tax - my husband has always used Turbo Tax.
I do not feel totally confident with my results. I too did not appreciate that you're trying to sell me additional things. Next year I will pay someone to do our taxes.

Tried H&R Block ... didn't feel secure with their question format and they had a program error that I couldn't ever reach anyone to help with. Went back to TT and very happy.

Turbo Tax was easier than anticipated

After working many years using Quick Books, and following my CPA's retirement, it took a little getting used to the Turbo Tax platform. However, once I had all of my information inputted it became easier to work with.

Once again TurboTax is the best choice for us!

The federal desktop software is excellent and once again solved one major roadblock to E-filing for us. The PA State version was not as good and forced many searches for answers that i would expect to be automatic based on the federal data shared.
