I've used TurboTax for many years. It's always been pretty easy. Have to admit that this year, at 82, it was a little more difficult.

Generally, everything works, but there were two exceptions. First, while you picked up my last year's return from my computer, I had to manually find my taxable income from 2023 in order to e-file. And second, while I moved my investment files into turbotax from Schwab, there were still too many manual things that I had to add to my 2024 forms that should have been automatic.

I had to use Turbo Deluxe because my daughter was unable to use "free" file as a result of receiving a 1099 NEC. She makes < $8,000 as a college intern.

Expert Advice not accurate

I paid for "expert help" but was given poor guidance regarding a 401K that that I took a full disbursement on when I left that employer, but then re-invested the entire amount (including what was deducted for taxes) within the 60 day time frame.

TurboTax is Good - Fix state e-filing glitch

It was easy to complete my federal and state taxes. I love the fact that you can schedule the date to e-file your federal taxes. I dislike paying to file my state taxes. It was difficult to navigate the software to file my state taxes by mail. The software wanted me to e-file state taxes for $20.00 which I was not about to do.

Turbo Tax is great

I think Turbo Tax does a good job of getting your tax returns accomplished. It would be nice to see the pages of the return to compare to previous years while you are working on the return instead of only seeing them after you submit the return. This would be reinforcement that you are entering your data correctly. I have used Turbo Tax for the last 4 years and I trust my returns are accurate.
