Can be useful but not always easy to use.

Normally, I appreciate using TT for my returns. However, this time, I tried to E-File my Federal but mail my Georgia return and it would not E-File my Federal using some lame excuse that an Update was required. If that was true, why didn't it update before or while I was using TT to prepare my returns. More it sounds like TT did not get to charge me ($40+) for my not e-filing my State. Could that be the real reason????

TurboTax took a step backwards

this years TurboTax was not as user friendly as in previous years.
Also.
1.when I navigated using the back button and then moved forward, sections were skipped
2.TurboTax did not import all the data from Schwab
3. The import function was horrible, for example it created duplicate entries for some sources

Turbo Tax is Awesome!

I have used TT for many years with and without a business. I have found the questions pertaining to my documents to be very clear and precise. I don't enjoy having to do my taxes, but TT has made it an educational and learning experience each year. I also use It's Deductible to help with our donations. Thank you, Intuit.

Not as happy with the software this year

Several glitches this year. Summary page does not show this year's Home energy Credit although it does pass through to the form 5695 - fortunately. Unable to get past the screen offering a discount to efile the state return this year and no way to change it back to mail. Although you can choose to mail it, this causes no mail instructions to print on the return so I had to look them up at the state website. Also caused a payment of $20 to efile to get a return of $44.

Phone help was very good. Need an introductory tutorial to navigate the forms and use the application. I may have missed this but it's not obvious where it might be if it is there. Not always clear where numbers came from on the formsand clicking on some did not provide the source.
Also need to put the 1040 vs 1040-SR choice in Easy Step. It's patronizing to think all of us over 65 need or prefer the large print version that you force as the default. There's no obvious way to know to dig into the 1040 form and try to find the checkboxes. We have to call support which should not be necessary for something like this

I can't say enough about how great Turbo Tax is. The walk thru questions is very good and the efiling process is seamless.
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments
