T.T. worked very well with my Foreign Tax Credit, but I had trouble mentioning and then excluding income from rental of my home for less than 15 days Augusta rule. I needed to do this because a 1099 form had be sent.

TURBO TAX IS TERRIBLE

I'VE USED TURBO TAX FOR SEVERAL YEARS. THIS IS MY FINAL TIME USING IT. FIRST YOIU CAN'T GET A CD. YOU CAN ONLY DOWNLOAD. SECOND I COULDN'T GET MY INFORMATION IN. I HAD TO SEARCH ON WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS BECAUSE I COUDN'T GET ANY HELP ONLINE. FINALLY, AFTER SEVERAL HOURS OF SERCHING I FOUND OUT I HAD TO CLOSE THE PROGRAM AND RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR. WHICH I HAD TO DO MORE THAN ONCE.

Turbo Tax Reliable as Always

This year I had issue sending it thru e-file and called customer service right away. The customer service named Sheena helped me by reviewing my returns, and she finally figured out the reason. She's very professional and so patient trying to figure out the problem until we finally solved it. That's why, I always used Turbo tax every year for more than 15 years now because it's easy to use and very user friendly.

Tax calculations should be more transparent!

I'm pretty knowledgeable on what is needed to fill in my tax forms. When I need to override an input in a form, sometimes TurboTax will not allow me to do so even though I "open" the form. On some lines I am successful but on others I am not.
Also the software should show how it calculates one's tax. It is a blackbox, and especially for New York state taxes, there are additions that are separate from the tax brackets. Turbotax did not warn me that this was the case so I could not figure out why its calculations differed from mine.
