done with using turbo tax

it would probably less stressful to just have someone else do my taxes.... this software is very confusing at times and seems to get worse every year... I'm told to enter data one way and then there is no way to follow these instructions.. I just get circled back to the instructions...there's nowhere for any clarification except from others users; so who knows if the info is correct . But I can pay additionally and supposedly an expert will be able to explain the voids in their software.

i keep getting the return rejected. it says that the AGI must be incorrect but it is taken directly off last years TurboTax return.

Federal is Excellent. State Module Not Bad

The federal version was flawless and easy to use. For the New Jersey State module, some information was not carried over from year to year. For instance, the calculation for taxable inherited IRA distributions left information blank when it was readily available in last year's tax return data file.

Buggy and the UI has gotten so bad that, after using TurboTax (and MacinTax) for over 30 years, I may switch to something different.
There have been UI problems for many years that I've reported numerous times. Nothing has ever been fixed. This year is a new UI in many areas that are an order of magnitude worse. Poorly written code causing constantly having to scroll, inconsistent entry (which used to be just fine), and other stupid changes that make using TT much harder to use.

Consistently Good Tax Software

Turbotax works well each year. I might quibble about the price, but I still pay it to avoid hassles. The ability to download data from financial sites is especially helpful.
