Small issue with state calculations

Great experience. Just saw two recurring issues regarding Alabama state taxes that the application seems to not catch right away.
1. It initially taxes the IRA to Roth IRA conversion as a full capital gain, instead of adjusting for the basis for conversion based on prior non-deductible IRA contributions. The user has to catch that and manually adjust the numbers.
2. It correctly calculates taxable income by leaving out the military retirement pay, but it should also be able to prefill this information in the separate entries in which non-taxable income is declared to fill out the back of AL Form 40.

Turbo Tax Good product

TurboTax performed well in doing taxes. One undesired feature is that no DISK (CD ROM) available. Older computer had trouble with downloading the software. I prefer loading from CD ROM directly to Hard Drive rather than downloading from the WEB.

There are errors in the verbiage for railroad retirement clients. Also, there is ambiguity in the question about HSAs.

Been using TT for 25 years & never had problems. This year it would not e-file IA return for a week & a half, trying to submit it multiple times. Finally, today, it went through. I am not happy.

Turbo Tax software lacking

Too much work to get the software started. Also, even though I entered on the state package that I was on Covered California, the software didn't take me back to the federal return to enter the 1095-A form information so I would have been filing an incomplete return. I had to go look where to enter that information by myself
