Long-time user of TurboTax Deluxe, but had issues

Hi
Using Deluxe version.
Was disappointed that I was not able to properly edit/delete investment items in reporting capital gains for stock sales.

Turbo Tax is so easy to use.

I always have problems with the Addition/Subtraction of Federal vs State rates. Read all the accompanying further explanations and still did not understand what was supposed to be entered. Check with my tax preparer friend and she has never run across these entries

Repeated Error Messages

I had repeated error messages telling me I had missed a step. Had to go to forms view to complete the step. I hadn't missed anything. Very frustrating.

Great Tax Software Program

I love Turbo Tax. It's very easy to use, no guessing. I use it every year. Most of the information is transferred from the previous year tax returns and you can opt to go through each step. The process is simple and the review of the tax return before you transmit your information is wonderful. Love it!

More screens, more clicks, less help...

More cumbersome than last year (or the years prior). A ton of unnecessary and redundant screens and clicks and screens and click and screens... especially at the end.
At least one potentially critical screw up: when filing for MINNESOTA state tax there is a screen that has to do with "529 Savings Plan" (in blue font). Smaller text states: "Individuals who contribute to a 529 savings plan may be eligible for a nonrefundable credit up to $500, or a subtraction from income up to $1,500 ($3,000 for married couples filing joint returns)" Then in BOLD FONT ON SAME SCREEN: "Did you make any contributions to or receive any distributions from a 529 savings plan?"
We clicked "YES"
This brings us to the next screen that says "529 Savings Plan Contributions" in blue font. We did NOT make any contributions, BUT there were several DISTRIBUTIONS. And there should have been a screen for this. I sincerely hope this does not matter, but if the state of Minnesota audits us, guess who will have to come with us to that particular audit and explain this mess?
