Product indicated FREE Federal returns. At end of program a $40 filing fee was charged. That is not my definition of Free. What gives? The product cost $55 to start with and a fee was charged to send the State return which was expected

Turbo Tax work items

When downloading the files from my investment firm, doubling files were downloaded causing errors in the tax amount, and also one error in the data, compared to my printouts direct from my investment firm. Luckily, I spotted all the errors. I also had to manually sum up the foreign country dividends corresponding to the tax I paid. (This information is available in the files transmitted.) There were several items I had to manually edit in the forms during final "review." Those should have been clarified during the initial data review.

Seems overly complicated for those limited by the standard deduction. Turbo Tax should provide an app to capture sales tax from scanned receipts to total them up at years end.

Desktop TurboTax doesn't allow 1099-B PDF upload!

One critique:
I used the desktop app for 2024 return and I had to physically mail my 1099-B form because the Desktop app doesn't accept a PDF upload but apparently the online TurboTax does? This is super annoying! Can we figure out how to allow 1099-B PDF upload for the Desktop app? That would be great!
