Very disappointed!

My husband and I have used Turbo Tax for many, many years. We had the most problems this year with filing our federal return electronically and trying to mail in our state return. We spent hours!!! We finally just mailed in the state without Turbo Tax's blessing. Why was this so difficult? We will do our 2025 taxes with an option other than Turbo Tax.

Turbo Tax is much more difficult this year

Have never needed live tax advice in the past with Turbo Tax. This year it seemed Turbo Tax was far more difficult to understand than in past years. I hope that was not done on purpose so that users would be forced to pay $60 for live tax advice. Paying $63.81 for Turbo Tax plus $60 for live advice makes Turbo Tax a pretty expensive platform. Your AI that answers search queries is useless.

Can't download previous year's filings

I was not able to download my tax returns from previous years. I tried to follow https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/prior-year-tax-return/access-prior-year-return/L7opE9vDA_US_en_US, but there was no "documents" tab anywhere. After logging in, I only could take the survey, even though I already purchased TurboTax.

Why do I pay for a "free" state return

I bought the Fed with 1 free state filing. Then I have to pay for the state. Where is the 1 free?

TT needs to request Identity PIN at the start

Overall and throughout the years using TT I am pleased. This year, after submitting TT returns to both Federal and State via e-file, both got rejected. They got rejected because TT had not informed me to fill out the Identity PIN given by IRS via mail. This is really frustrating. If anything, the Identity PIN needs to be located in the front TT where the personal information is inputted.

Larger print needed when filling out forms

Very disappointed in the size of fonts while using Turbo Tax. The user area only filled about 1/3 of the screen--WHY couldn't you make the letters BIGGER???

Always gets the job done

I've used Turbo Tax to file my tax returns for 30 years. The program asks understandable questions to determine which forms I need to file, and uploads information directly from source documents as much as possible. Don't see how any other tool could work better.
