Great but not Awesome

Did not engage a tax expert. If you know what documents you need and where to find last years AGI you don't really need the tax expert. If you want to improve on turbo tax for 2025 (when you close turbo tax to go looking for last year AGI, when opening current year it should take you right to where you need to enter the figure). with Turbo tax 2024 it did not and it was a pain to get pack to that point.

Turbo Tax is so easy to use!

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to navigate between subjects and make my entries. It had been at least 10 years since I had used Turbo Tax and it was very awkward at that time. It was a breeze this time. It was also easy to find my place again the next day and to make changes. I'm a senior and was nervous about trying this software again. I highly recommend it.

W-2 box 12

It would be great if when a W-2 shows values in box 12, those numbers were automatically entered into their appropriate spots with questions to answer as needed. For example Code C and DD amounts should both be automatically entered where appropriate in the health section of your questions. A person shouldn't have to remember what each code # is and where it needs to be entered especially if they're using the ask me everything option

Military Pension error

State tax prep for the state of Georgia issue: The "walk me through" interview has a bug and does not handle military retirement pension income very well at all. The Georgia "Military retirement Income tax exemption" seems to be conflated in TurboTax with the way Georgia handles the generic "retirement income exclusion" for other types of pensions. When asked if I had military retirement income, and the "yes" box is checked, the "check for errors" function later shows an error, telling me I can't select that. I found I had to override the worksheet selections and pick one form of pension or the other. It left me wondering if I qualified for only one, or both sets of rules.
Additionally, there is also a contradiction between TurboTax's Georgia "work sheets" and the Georgia Dept of Revenue instructions regarding age and the military retirement income exemption status of veterans under 62 vs 62-64 vs 65+. Please untangle this issue.

I was VERY unhappy with TurboTax this year

I found enough of the information turbo tax asked for very confusing. There was one income entry situation where I was looking for a button to click that I wanted to enter the information myself and I had to click each link and then back up until finally the correct button showed up. There was another situation where I was trying to enter my IRA info and Turbo tax dd not provide any information ahead of time telling what I would need to enter until I got to that spot and had to enter a phony number so I could go in and then go back at a later date to enter the correct information. I have several accounts with my retirement firm and after TurboTax downloaded the information turbotax provided me with no account numbers so it was very hard to determine which retirement account turbotax wanted me to verify and/or add additional information for.
